In the naturepark Weißbach, you can combine impressive clamming experiences in the Seisenbergklamm nature monument and hikes through near-natural forests across species-rich alpine pastures to alpine terrain for an unforgettable experience. In addition to a well-developed network of hiking trails for leisurely hikers and ambitious mountaineers, the nature park also offers mountain bike trails for exploring the mountain world on two wheels. A network of running and Nordic walking trails extends the possibilities on foot. You can explore the diverse landscape on your own along more than 45 kilometers of well-signposted hiking trails or book an event from the extensive hiking and excursion program, accompanied by experts and highly trained nature park staff. Seisenbergklamm round trip - short

The nature monument Seisenbergklamm is an impressive gateway to the Weißbach Nature Park and offers a spectacular natural experience with roaring water and high rock walls. On well-built wooden walkways and stairs they hike through the gorge over a length of about 600 meters, before a comfortable forest path leads as a circular route back to Weißbach. Especially for families with children, the interactive adventure trail accompanied by the gorge spirit offers plenty of entertainment. (Duration: approx. 1 h, ~ 100 Hm)


Seisenbergklamm round trip - long

Through the Seisenbergklamm gorge and along the Landscape Experience Trail to the border at Hirschbichl. Hike directly from Weißbach through the Seisenbergklamm as an impressive natural spectacle, which was originally made accessible for the wood drift. Then follow the Weißbach along to Hintertal / Gasthaus Lohfeyer. Here begins the Landscape Experience Trail, which takes you through interesting stations on the subject of the cultural landscape to Hirschbichl, the border to the Berchtesgaden National Park. On this hike they experience with all their senses the diversity of the landscape with canyon forest, mountain meadows and alpine landscapes with all their facets. Hundsfußalmround trip over the Grasenberg

Directly from the parking lot at the Wieser bridge, follow the path along the Saalach River in the direction of St. Martin until you reach the vacation meadow. Shortly thereafter, an old drawing path branches off to the right, the Grasenberg. The path now overcomes the approx. 400 meters in altitude in several bends through the sparse, orchid-rich pine forest to the Gerhardsteinforststraße. After a few meters, a path branches off to the left in the direction of Hundsfußalm, which you follow for about 30 minutes. There are two options for the descent: Either hike on the Gerhardsteinrunde via the Wandbauern to the Lohfeyer inn and on to Weißbach, or walk via the upper Wildentalbauern through the Wildbachschlucht gorge to the Saalachweg trail, which you then follow in the direction of Weißbach. (Duration: depending on the descent variant 4 to 6 h, 11 to 17 km, ~ 500 to 600 Hm).


Kallbrunnalm round trip (around the Hochkranz)

The starting point for this alpine hike is the Lohfeyer Inn in Hintertal. From here, follow the signs in the direction of Hirschbichl until you reach the Stockklauser Säge. From here, a path branches off to the right in the direction of Pürzlbach. From Pürzlbach the forest path leads with a wonderful mountain panorama on the Leoganger Steinberge to the Kallbrunnalm. Now hike over the Kallbrunnalm and keep left at the next fork in the road towards Hirschbichl. Follow the forest road over the Weißbachalm to the Schaustadel and continue left to Hintertal. (Duration: approx. 5 h, 14 km, ~ 600 Hm)


Kammerlingalm round trip

From the Schaustadel (paid parking) or bus station 'Abzw. Kallbrunnalm' hike on the forest road in the direction of Kallbrunnalm to the Weißbachalm. At the next crossing a path branches off to the left in the direction of Kaltwasserstube / Kammerlingalm, which you follow. On the opposite side of the slope, at the second wooden hut you pass, take a path on the right towards Kammerlingalm. Once at the Kammerlingalm, follow the path towards Hirschbichl. At the barrier you can either turn left and walk along the Hirschbichl road or turn right and walk along the Landscape Experience Trail back to the Schaustadel in Hintertal. (Duration: approx. 4 h, 8,5km, ~ 350 Hm)


around the Gerhardstein

From the Lohfeyer Inn in Hintertal, hike in the direction of Wandbauer and Hundsfußalm through a varied landscape. Further over the Möserwald junction the forest trail leads to the Eibl junction with the Eibl chapel. From here the trail continues towards Hirschbichl, from where the Landscape Experience Trail leads back to the Lohfeyer Inn. (Duration: approx. 5 h, 12.5 km, ~ 400 Hm)


Litzlalm round trip

Variation with Litzlkogel

Starting point for the comfortable Litzlalmrunde is the Hirschbichl, which you can reach with the Almerlebnisbus. From the Hirschbichl inn, follow the Landscape Experience Trail for two stops to the top of the pass, from where a trail branches off to the right through the forest. After about 30 minutes you will reach the Litzlalm. Either continue hiking to the upper alpine hut and to the Litzlkogel (1.625m; requirements: short secured and steep climbing passage)(same way back to the Litzlalm) or cross the alpine pasture and return to the Hirschbichl via the forest path. (Duration: approx. 2 h, 3.5km, ~ 180 Hm/ Variant Litzlkogel approx. 3 ½h, 7.5km, ~ 450 Hm).


Ingolstädterhaus - View to Steinerne Meer

You can start the hike to the Ingolstädterhaus either from Pürzlbach or from the Schaustadel (paid parking) or bus station 'Abzw. Kallbrunnalm'. First you hike along the forest path to the Kallbrunnalm, from where you keep going in the direction of the Dießbach reservoir and the Ingolstädterhaus. A while after the reservoir, a trail branches off to the right in the direction of Ingolstädterhaus. Having reached your destination, you will enjoy a wonderful view of the Steinerne Meer. If you want, you can now hike up to the Großer Hundstod (2,594m) (round trip approx. 2 ½ h, additional 480 Hm; surefootedness!) or continue into the Steinerne Meer. All others return to the valley along the same path. (Duration: approx. 9 h, 24km, ~ 1,150 Hm).

Seehorn round trip

The approach to the Seehorn (2,321m) is best done from the Schaustadel (Hintertal) or bus stop 'Abzw. Kallbrunnalm', via the Weißbachalm and the Kallbrunnalm, from where the trail branches off towards the Seehornsee. After about 4 ½ hours you reach the summit. From the Seehorn, the descent is a circular route via the Hochwies and the Dießbachstausse back to the Kallbrunnalm and on to the Schaustadel (walking time approx. 4 h). The Schaustadel can be reached by the Almerlebnisbus (alp adventure bus) as well as by car (paid parking lot). If you want to shorten the way, you can book a cab service at the Lohfeyer Inn up to the Kallbrunnalm. (Duration: approx. 9 h, 21 km, ~ 1,350 hm)

Hochkranz

difficult

The hike to the local mountain of Weißbach, the Hochkranz (1,953m), is best started either from the Almerlebnisbusstation 'Abzw. Kallbrunnalm' or from the parking lot in Pürzlbach. From there you hike to the Kallbrunnalm, where you follow the turnoff towards the Hochkranz summit. Over the Kühkranz in front of you, the summit structure comes closer and closer, where you can either choose the direct path over the Schneid (very difficult: unmarked, very exposed, climbing sections up to II, only for experienced!) or the secured path to the summit. The way back is via the ascent path. (Duration: depending on the starting point about 5 ½ h, 13km (Pürzelbach) to 6 ½ h, 16 km (Abzw. Kammerlingalm); ~ 900 Hm).

Kammerlinghorn

The Kammerlinghorn (2.484m) can be easily climbed with the public journey of the Almerlebnisbus from the 'Abzw. Kammerlingalm'. Follow the forest road in the direction of Kammerlingalm, from where a path branches off in the direction of Kammerlinghorn. The path leads southwards towards the mountain ridge. Then you hike over the Karlkopf to the summit of the Kammerlinghorn, which you reach after about 3 ½ hours. The descent is the same as the ascent. As a variant, at the turnoff back towards Kammerlingalm, you can also descend towards Bindalm via Mooswand north to the German side and take the Almerlebnisbus (alp adventure bus) back at Hirschbichlpass. (Duration: approx. 6 h, 10 km, ~ 1,250 Hm)

Birnhorn

difficult

The Birnhorn is with its 2.634m the highest point in the municipal area of Weißbach. This very long and therefore demanding tour is best combined with an overnight stay at the Passauer Hütte (Naturepark partner establishment) at 2,051m.

 

The ascent to the hut is best done from the parking lot for the Passauer Hütte on the Bundesstraße 311 (about after 3 km from Weißbach in the direction of Saalfelden) via the steep Pfannsteig to the Niedergrub (about 1 ½ h). Alternatively, you can also take the alpine cab (AlmWanderTaxi) directly from Weißbach to here. From the Niedergrub, follow hiking trail 621/622 to the hut, which you reach after about 3 h. From the hut, take trail 620 over the Melkerloch and after about 2 ½ h walking time you can enjoy the view from the summit. The path is steep and requires the overcoming of secured and unsecured climbing passages. The descent is now via the north ridge to the Kuchelnieder back to the Passauer Hütte, which also includes insured climbing passages. The way back to the parking lot is the same as the ascent route. (Duration: 11 ½ h, 17 km, ~2,000 Hm).

>> The hikes and mountain tours described above are only a small selection of possible tours in the nature park region. There are many more marked trails in the surrounding mountains. With the Almerlebnisbus you can easily reach many starting points for hikes in the neighboring Berchtesgaden National Park in an environmentally friendly way. With the regional bus you can also quickly reach starting points for tours in the Steinernes Meer, the Leoganger or Loferer Steinbergen.
